Have A Word Podcast with Adam Rowe & Dan Nightingale is a podcast hosted by Comedians Adam Rowe & Dan Nightingale[1]. The first episode aired in January 2020 and its format is comedy and entertainment. They have weekly public guest episodes where they are joined by celebrities and comedians such as Jimmy Carr[2], Shane Gillis[3], Andrew Schulz[4], and Barry Dodds[5] .

Hosts

The podcast is hosted and owned by Comedians Adam Rowe & Dan Nightingale primarily, however, producer and co-owner Carl Reigler[6] and producer Finnlay Kulavuz are also present throughout the episode. Other members of Have A Word staff also make cameos in each episode.

Podcasting

The podcast invites celebrities and public figures to take part in the second half of each Public Episode of the podcast.

As mentioned, amongst the notable people who have appeared on the podcast Comedians Jimmy Carr, Shane Gillis, Andrew Schulz and Barry Dodds. Further recurring guests are fan favourites, Eshaan Akbar, Paul Smith, UFC fighters Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann, and popular YouTuber Stephen Tries.

The podcast consists of Monday public episodes and Wednesday 'Patreon exclusive' episodes that can be accessed on YouTube, Spotify, and Patreon.

The Podcast was the first in the UK to build a purpose-built studio.[7] Rowe also attributes the podcast’s success to investing ‘so much’ time, money and effort into the content, he said in 2023, "I think it comes across. Everything we do gets careful attention to make it as good as it can possibly be."[8]

Live shows

On 1st April 2022, Have a Word announced their biggest ever UK show to date at Liverpool’s 11,000 capacity M&S Bank Arena,[9] to take place on the 9th December 2022, just two years after the show’s launch

Ratings and awards

In 2022, Have A Word won the Best Podcast at the Chortle Awards. In 2023, it was nominated for the Best Comedy Podcast at the National Comedy Awards.

Have A Word finished runner-up to Shagged, Married, Annoyed with Chris Ramsey and Rosie Ramsey at the 'National Comedy Awards for Stand Up To Cancer' for the 'Best Comedy Podcast' award in 2023[10]. beating podcasts such as 'Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s Parenting Hell' and 'Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster'

Work with Zoe's Place Baby Hospice

In 2021, Have A Word released the song Laura's Gone in a bid to reach Christmas number 1 and raise money for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice and the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.[11] The song reached number 39 in the Official Charts Company midweek chart.[12]

In November 2024, the Have A Word crew will be taking part in a 450km charity bicycle ride across India to raise money for the charity[13]
