On December 18, 2022, Hawaiian Airlines Flight 35 (HA35/HAL35), a scheduled U.S. domestic passenger flight from Phoenix to Honolulu, experienced severe turbulence, leaving 36 injured. 20 people were hospitalized, 11 of whom had serious injuries, but there were no critical injuries or deaths.[1][2][3] The flight was operated with an Airbus A330-200.

The flight was an Airbus A330-200 operated by Hawaiian Airlines. The flight was flying from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, located in Phoenix, Arizona to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. At around 10:30 a.m., when the plane was about 30 minutes outside of Honolulu, the pilots reported severe turbulence near their aircraft. The flight landed safely at 10:50 a.m.[4]
