Hiten Shah (born May 12, 1970) is an American entrepreneur and supply chain management expert, and thought leader from Columbus, Ohio. He is the founder and president of Metrics Holdings and its subsidiary companies, MES, Inc., Metrics Works, and MESH, whose customers include Eaton, Phillips, Bridgestone, and Worthington Industries.[1][2]

Early life and education[edit]

Shah was born and raised in the suburb of Malad in North Mumbai, India to a Jain family, son of Talakchand D. Shah and Tara T. Shah (née Gala).[3]

He graduated in 1989 with a degree in plastics engineering from Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic before earning a master’s from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.[3]

Career[edit]

Shah was recruited as a plastics engineer and relocated to Medina, Ohio soon before moving to Central Ohio to take a job with Midwest Acoust-A-Fiber (MAI). There he held a variety of roles, including key manager, process engineer, engineering manager, director of engineering, vice president of sales, and director of joint venture sales.[3]

In 2007 Shah started a single-person global supply chain operation, MES, Inc., “as a fluke.”[4] In less than 15 years he built a fast-growing global encompassing multiple organizations, investments, and charitable endeavors, with an estimated $80+ million in annual sales.[5]

The organization, which is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has offices in China, India, Poland, and Mexico, with warehouse facilities in the U.S., Poland, and Mexico.[6]

Personal life[edit]

Shah is married to Heena Shah (née Keniya) who works as MES, Inc.’s Chief People Officer (CPO). They have two adult sons, Sahil and Eshan.
