Home Leisure Direct is a games room retailer headquartered in Bristol, United Kingdom.

The company was founded in 2007 as an e-commerce retailer of pool tables, and has since expanded to become a UK market leader with two showrooms displaying a wide range of home leisure products.[1][2]

History[edit]

Husband and wife, Andy and Michelle Beresford initially founded Home Leisure Direct in 2007, and began trading in 2008.[2][3] By 2010 the business expanded to a showroom near the village of Elberton, Gloucestershire, and Andy left his position as Director at Phones4U to concentrate on the business full-time.[1][4]

In 2012, the company expanded to a second showroom to concentrate on luxury products, and undertook a rebrand and launch of a new website.[2][5] The same year the company announced they were to become the Official Gamesroom Retailer for Jack Daniel's, launching a range of custom pool table cloths, as well as branded football tables and pool tables.[6]

By the end of 2012, Home Leisure Direct had been announced as Official Partners of both the UK's Nine-ball GB9 Pool League, and the Eight-ball pool IPA League.[7][8] They also announced that they were to become Official Sponsor of Gareth Potts, 3 time eight-ball pool World Champion.[9]

Throughout 2013 and 2014, Home Leisure Direct announced partnerships with a range of Premier League Football Teams,[1] including Manchester United F.C., Liverpool F.C., and Chelsea F.C., and also began listing items through various team's Official Webstores.

In 2014 they were announced as Official Sponsor for the British Foosball Association.[10] The company's expanded activity on YouTube also gained popularity, with their official account hosting over 300 videos detailing product reviews, 'How to Play' guides, buying advice, and tournament footage.[1]

As of 2015, the company has 15 employees, and has expanded to include a central Sales and Customer Service office, as well as two dedicated showrooms with the largest range of games room products on display in Europe.[4] The company's award-winning website also has lists over 1,900 products.[11]
