Honorio Banario (born September 25, 1989) is a Filipino mixed martial artist who currently signed in ONE Championship, he is the former ONE Featherweight champion and current ONE Lightweight fighter. He is the member of the Team Lakay Wushu

Biography[edit]

Banario was born in Mankayan, Benguet, Philippines. Banario worked as a farmer since he was a child and later he got bullied. At the age of 16 Banario starts training martial arts for protecting himself from the bullies to overcome his low self-esteem. Banario attend Cordillera Career Development College and winning national tournaments.

Banario become undefeated at the URCC record at 6–0 and becomes the Lightweight champion.

ONE Championship[edit]

2012[edit]

Banario signed in ONE Fighting Championship. Banario will face Bae Young Kwon at ONE FC: Battle of Heroes on February 11, 2012. Banario lost via Submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round.

Banario's next fight Andrew Benibe at ONE FC: Pride of a Nation on August 31, 2012. Banario won via TKO in the third round.

2013[edit]

Banario will challenge Eric Kelly for the inaugural ONE Featherweight world champion at ONE FC: Return of the Warriors on February 2, 2013. Banario won via TKO and claimed the ONE Featherweight world champion. [1]

Banario will defend the title against Koji Oishi at ONE FC: Rise to Power on May 31, 2013. Banario loss via KO in the second round and pass the title to Koji Oishi.

However Banario will take rematch Koji Oishi to reclaim the title at ONE FC: Moment of Truth on December 6, 2013. Banario loss via KO at the third round.[2]

In 2014, Banario will fight Jadamba Narantungalag at ONE FC: Honorio Banario on May 30, 2014. Banario loss via Unanimous decision.

Banario's next challenge is Herbert Burns at ONE FC: Warrior's Way on December 5, 2014. Banario loss via Submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round.

Banario's next fight is Ev Ting at ONE Championship: Tigers of Asia on October 9, 2015. Banario loss via Submission (guillotine choke) in the first round.

In 2016, Banario will challenge Vaughn Donayre at ONE Championship: Global Rivals on April 15, 2016. Banario won via Unanimous decision.

Banario's next fight is Jaroslav Jartim at ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny on April 21, 2017. Banario won via KO (Punch) in the second round.

2018[edit]

Banario announced he will moved up to Lightweight and face Adrian Pang at ONE Championship: Heroes of Honor on April 20, 2018. Banario won via Split decision.[3]
