Ilakkiya is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language family drama television series, which premiered on 10 October 2022 in Sun TV and digitally streamed on Sun NXT, starring Hima Bindhu in the titular role and Nandan Loganathan in lead roles. The serial is a remake of Hindi television serial Bhagya Lakshmi, which is being aired on Zee TV.

Synopsis[edit]

Bold and beautiful Ilakkiya finds happiness in making others happy. Circumstance leads to her tying the knot with her friend Gautham. Can Ilakkiya create her destiny, despite Gautham's controlling aunt Bairavi & her conniving cousin Anjali?

Casting[edit]

Hima Bindhu was cast in the female lead role as Ilakkiya. Actor Nandan Loganathan who plays the male lead role as Gowtham, who making his come back from Chithi 2.[1] Rani was cast as supporting role but was replaced with Priya Prince later in the series with Maanas Chavali who had worked together in Kannana Kanne (Indian TV Series). Sushma Nair from Nayagi (TV series) was also cast.

Release[edit]

The show premiered on Sun TV on 10 October 2022. The show replaced Chandralekha (TV series).[2]
