Imants Bluzmanis

Imants Bluzmanis (born 7 May 1987 in Jūrmala, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian pianist. He took his first piano lessons when he was six years old and studied under I. Strause, J. Maleckis, S. Osokins, and V. Suchanov. He participated in several piano master classes under D. Bashkirov, O. Maisenbeg, S. Dorensky, V. Margulis, N. Kazimirova, I. Ossipova, M. Chochlow, H. Palsson, I. Lazko, J. Kalnciems, and I. Ilja. From 2006 to 2011, he studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Munich under Franz Massinger, a famous pupil of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. From 2011 to 2012, he pursued postgraduate studies with Gitti Pirner in Munich. He is a prizewinner of many piano competitions in Latvia and abroad (2nd Prize in the International N. Rubinstein Competition in Paris 2002, 3rd Prize in the International Epta - Cyprus Competition in Larnaka 2004, and 2nd Prize in the 27th International B. Smetana Piano Competition in the Czech Republic in 2006).[1] Imants Bluzmanis has given concerts in Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Russia, France, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia.
