Innova Desktop Environment (abbreviated InnovaDE) is a desktop environment light and fast designed for Gnu/Linux platform, developed in Gambas3. It is 100% (Free Software) and respects XDG standards and Freedesktop.
InnovaDE is still under development since September 2013 by InnovaDE development team.
Components
The environment includes:
- Launcher, application launcher in an easy and elegant way.
- Desktop, it displays the content on the desktop.
- Panel, it includes a panel that is smart, easy to use, customizable, and has the basic functions expected of a desktop panel. It is configurable through MyInnova (Center Configuration).
- Session, manages options to Close, Restart, and Shutdown.
- System Tray, shows the list of the most common Applets (Network, Audio, Keyboard) and can display any applications that are loaded into the system tray.
- Openbox, it is the window manager used to be lightweight and highly configurable but can be replaced by any other KWin, Mutter.
- Widgets, this version includes three widgets (Date, Time, Calculator) but you can show a long list of widgets you want to add.
- Theme, it includes 23 skins for graphical appearance of the most common themes, but the user can create, customize, or add new items.
- MyInnova, allows you to change the appearance of Launcher, Wallpaper, Home Screen, Transparency, Language, Applets, Panel, Widgets, Preferred Applications, Icons, GTK+ Appearance, and typography.
History
The first generation of InnovaDE was published on May 14, 2015, in the Preview version.
Being in the development stage, it can have several changes in its configuration files. The Gambas3 development team has provided support for such development.

It is released in a Preview version for users who want to test and report bugs and improve the project.

- PCInfo, Information of the System (OS, architecture, kernel, distribution, processor, memory, desktop, session, host, user, language, time zone).
- xt7Player, audio and video player.
- PintaScreen, a screen capture tool that can add icons, lines, arrows, text, etc., to the screenshots.
- PCManFM, file manager and desktop metaphor provider.
