JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. is an Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company headquartered in New Delhi. It is part of J.K. Organisation, an Indian industrial conglomerate, with headquarters in Delhi, Kanpur, and Mumbai. It was incorporated in 1951 by the Singhania family.
The company is primarily engaged in manufacturing tyres for automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and farm vehicles. As of 2026, the company is claimed to be India's third-largest tyre maker by revenue.[1]
History
JK Tyre & Industries was incorporated on 14 February 1951 as a private limited company. It pursued managing agency business until March 1970 before obtaining a letter of intent in February 1972 for manufacturing automobile tyres and tubes.[2]
The company became a public limited company on 1 April 1974.[2] It was engaged in developing, marketing, and distributing automotive tyres, tubes, flaps, and retreads.[3]
Products
JK Tyre manufactures a wide range of tyres, including passenger car tyres, motorcycle/scooter tyres, commercial tyres, truck/bus bias tyres, truck/bus radial tyres, LCV tyres, SCV tyres, farm tyres [4], off-the-road tyres, and three-wheeler tyres.
In 2016, JK Tyre became the first company to manufacture one crore truck radial tyres from its Vikrant plant in Mysore, Karnataka.[5] The company was also featured in the Limca Book of Records for introducing India’s largest off-road dump truck tyre with a payload capacity of 240 tonnes.[6]
In 2022, the company introduced the country's first puncture guard technology in tyres for four-wheelers.[7]
In 2023, it developed a new tyre using sustainable and recycled materials. The product was named 'UX Green'. Its comparison is said to be comparable to a standard radial tyre.[8]
In 2024, the company launched embedded smart tyres for passenger vehicles. The technology is claimed to integrate sensors into the tyre structure to provide real-time data on operating conditions, such as air pressure, temperature, and potential leaks.[9][10]

JK Tyre is claimed to have nine manufacturing plants in India and two in Mexico.[3] The plants in India are located in:
