Janis Krums (born 26 February 1985), a native of Riga, Latvia, is credited to be the first person to break the news of the "Miracle on the Hudson" crash on social media[1] and he is also known for taking the infamous picture which was used on multiple media platforms.[2][3]

Krums has been credited to be the first person to break the news of the crash in social media. Co-Founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey mentions that moment as the turning point for Twitter. Krums was on the 1st ferry that went to rescue the passengers.[4]
