JNV Aishmuqam or JNV Anantnag (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Anantnag) (Urdu: جواہر نوودیہ ودیالیہ، اننت ناگ‎) is a co-educational residential school belonging to the Navodayan family located at Aishmuqam[2] in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.[3][4] It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education.[5] [6][7][8]

History[edit]

JNV Anantnag was established on 20 December 1986 and its foundation stone was laid by Farooq Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.[5]

It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education[9] and is administrated by Chandigarh Regional Office of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.[10][11][12]

Amid coronavirus lockdown 2020, the Anantnag district administration shifted 160 non locals to the JNV Anantnag as of 6 April 2020.[13]

Admission[edit]

JNV Anantnag offers admission to the students of Anantnag district who have studied and passed Class 5 from any recognized school of the district. The students need to appear in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test or JNVST.[14][15]

JNV also offers students to take admission in Class 9 and Class 11 on the basis of JNVST.[16][17][18]
