John Paul Donnelly (born 31 January 1980) is an Irish businessman; entrepreneur and investor.[1]. He is best known as the founder of 5 Star Villa Holidays.[2]

[3]==Early life== In 1980, Donnelly was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland into a large Irish Family. One of eight children of Joseph Donnelly, born in 1949 and Margaret Heatley, born in 1948. John Paul has four brothers and three sisters.

Donnelly studied Sports Science in Liverpool's John Moore's University. Donnelly and his university and lifelong friend James Johnston went down the investment property route and invested in a number of student properties while at university.[4]

Career[edit]

At the age of 23, John Paul Donnelly visited the coastal resort, Alanya in Turkey and after a number of trips he invested in holiday apartments with James Johnston. One year later they sold 2 of the properties and used the capital to set up a construction company in Alanya.[4]

In 2005, Donnelly founded Turkish Homes 4 Less. He spent three years building resorts with luxurious villas and holiday apartments in Alanya. Donnelly sold the investment properties from his real estate stores in Belfast, Liverpool and Alanya.[5]

Donnelly set up villa holiday company marketing 6 of the luxurious villas Turkish Homes 4 Less built. In the years that followed Donnelly began marketing luxury villas in other parts of Turkey.[6]

Donnelly's expanding villa rental company was rebranded in 2011 to 5 Star Villa Holidays.Today 5 Star Villa Holidays offers over 4,000 luxury villas worldwide. Destinations including; Australia, Bali, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Maldives, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and USA.[7][8][9]

In 2018, Donnelly was involved in Dojo Bali's Cogiving programme with the non-profit organisation, Five Pillar Foundation developing the potential of communities in the Jembrana Regency, Bali through the five pillars of economic, social, environment, educational, and cultural development.[10]

TV, Radio, Award & Achievements[edit]

In 2007, Donnelly was nominated for the Best Young Achiever Award at the Liverpool Echo Enterprise Champions Awards 2007.[11]

Donnelly was a guest speaker on Linda Mcdermottís show on BBC Radio Merseyside, sharing his expert knowledge on property investment in UK and overseas.[12]

In 2016, Donnelly joined semi professional football team, Queenstown Rovers. Their team went all the way to the last round of the famous Chatham Cup, New Zealand.[13]

Personal life[edit]

Since June 2015, Donnelly and Doyle have been travelling the world, devoted to personally selecting the best 5 Star villas and property management companies to work with. Their passion for travel and experiencing new cultures can be viewed on 5 Star Villa Holidays YouTube channel and their Living The Dream Travel Vlog.[14]
