Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf (born 16 October 1968) is a Nigerian businessman and CEO of KAM Holding Limited.[1] He specializes in the manufacturing of Iron and Steel products.[2]
Yusuf is the Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Kwara/Kogi Chapter[3][4].
Early life and Education
Kamoru Yusuf was born in Iwo-Isin, Kwara, North-Central, Nigeria. He started as an apprentice with Messrs Oladimeji & Sons Enterprises and later became a trader, then a merchant. He rose to become a manufacturer in the Iron and Steel sector of Nigeria’s economy.
He attended Iwo-Owu Secondary School and proceeded to Institut Supérieur de Formation Professionnelle, Republic of Benin to study Computer Science.
Business career
Yusuf established KAM Industries in 1996 as a manufacturer of nail shanks of various sizes, umbrella and couper nails, and started operation in 1997. By 2008 the company established a manufacturing company in Wuxi, China to produce nail caps for sales to the locals and for export to Nigeria. In 2014, Yusuf also opened a Private Company in Mumbai, India for technology transfer and procurement of all required spare parts for the company.[5]
He is a Council member of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria - (MAN) and the Chairman, MAN Kogi/Kwara Chapter, Chairman Basic Metal, Iron and Steel Manufacturers[6] as well as the Chairman of Galvanized Iron and Steel Manufacturers Association, (GISMA).[7][8]
Yusuf is an advocate for policies in favour of manufacturers and the masses, as well as campaigning against smuggling[9][10][11][12][13].
Awards
Kamoru Yusuf has been honoured with Fellowships of the Metallurgical Society of Nigeria, (FMSN);[14] Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN) and Kwara State Polytechnic’s.
In 2019, he established Kamoru Yusuf Entrepreneurship Fund at the Kwara State University Malete.[15]
Personal life
Kamoru Yusuf married Iyadunni Bolanle Yusuf and they have two children, Damilola and Taofiq.
