Keka HR[2] is a SaaS based startup focused primarily on cloud based human resources and payroll management software for SMEs. It was founded in 2015 by Vijay Yalamanchili and Sashi Pagadala. Keka HR claims to be a bootstrap startup and totally self-funded without assistance from any foreign funds.[3]
History[edit]
Vijay Yalamanchili founded Keka after working at Technovert and noticing some flaws in its HR software, particularly the UI experience and attendance system.[4] The term 'Keka' is derived from a Telugu word which literally means 'awesome', therefore the literal translation of the company’s name is 'Awesome HR'.
Keka’s first product was an HR software to track employees’ attendance through biometric scans.[5][6] Since then, Keka HR has been working and launching many products based on Payroll, Talent Management, Productivity Management, etc. targeting Startups, SMEs, and Enterprises.[7][8]
As of 2020, the number has partnered with 3325+ clients including OnePlus, Godrej, Saavn, Honda, UpGrad, Toyota, Hyundai, Vendanta, Dream11 and ClearTax.
Recognition[edit]
It has also received 'Hottest Startup Of Hyderabad 2015'[9] HR vendors awards 2017 by World HRD Congress,[10] and 'Best Payroll Software 201'’ award and recognition from the Government of India as a company with the best technological initiatives in the country.[11]
