Ketto (Pronunciation - “kay-toe”) is an Indian online crowdfunding platform, where any individual/organisation across the country can raise funds for causes ranging from medical healthcare to disaster relief.[6][7] The company headquarters is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India,[8] with social worker representatives spread all across the country.

History

The company was founded in December 2012 by Varun Sheth, Kunal Kapoor and Zaheer Adenwala. Ketto is the first donation-based peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform in India. Ketto stands for Key to Tomorrow, implying the founders’ mission to create a change in society and connect people to access healthcare and share happiness. Ketto’s Vision is “Healthcare for all”.[7]

Ketto is a crowdfunding platform with a network of over 5.5 million donors who have funded around 3.2 Lakh online fundraisers. Ketto is responsible for raising over ₹2000 crores in online donations since its debut in 2012.[9][10]

Business model

Ketto allows users to create their own online fundraising campaign page through which they can raise money for charity, personal projects and medical costs. NGOs/charity partners go through a verification process which verifies the authenticity and validity of their submitted documents before account activation.[9]
