Kobre & Kim was founded in May 2003 by former colleagues from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, Steven G. Kobre and Michael S. Kim. The firm now has 10 primary offices and four additional Investigation and Trial Support Centers spanning the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.[4]

The firm's practice focuses on financial products and services litigation, insolvency and debtor-creditor disputes, international judgment enforcement and offshore asset recovery, government enforcement defense, investigations and monitorships, intellectual property and technology litigation, joint venture and partnership disputes, and trusts and estates litigation.[5]
