Korephilia

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Korephilia is the erotic attraction of a woman toward a prepubescent girl.

Overview[edit]

The word korephilia comes from Greek a compound derived from κόρη (kórē) "girl" and φιλία (philíā) "love".[1] In a broader sense, korephilia can also refer to any homosexual relationship between an older female and a younger female or as a female equivalent to pederasty.[2][3] Some definitions of korephilia posit a demarcation with the older female as an adult.[4] Some definitions extend the age range of the younger female to adolescence and the inclination to this age disparity has also had exponents in the past.[5] The broadest delineation of korephilia expands its scope to adult female attraction to minors of any gender or sex, and may be subject to age of consent laws. Korephilia generally has much fewer frequencies of occurrences than other forms of pedophilia.[6] The term has also been used in the context of indecency around children,[7] and when discussed around modern expressions, a moral judgment around such behavior.[8] Authors that have discussed themes related to korephilia include Jody Emerson,[9] Even Ensler[10] and Jean Lorrain.[11] However the concept of a woman-girl relationship is sometimes negated by societies that dismiss the existence of an autonomous female sexual identity.[12] Coverage of korephilia in classical periods differ from those in contemporary times in that classical depictions represented the younger partner as submissive, and focused on pleasuring the older partner, although contemporary portrayals may depict the older partner as passive while the younger partner may take the initiative and be dominant.[13]

It can take a number of varieties: it can involve rape or unlawful sexual intercourse with young girls. Where adult females are involved it is known as korephilia. This is much less common. Both these offences have been separately considered; it can also cover indecent assault on children and indecency with them, again, both of these offences in relation to young girls have already been considered. Paedophilia, however, is usually understood to mean homosexual fixation on young boys. Search this book on

Moreover, contemporary pederasty and korephilia differ from classical norms in that the younger partner may penetrate the older partner and/or take sexual initiative rather than be passive in serving the pleasures of the older partner.
