Liliana G. Ciobanu is an Australia researcher at Adelaide Medical School, The University of Adelaide. Her research focuses on the molecular foundations of cognition and psychiatric disorders. As well as, the role that genes play in various psychiatric conditions such as major depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. She uses next-generation sequencing (NGS), a whole-genome network approach, and machine learning.[1]
Education and scientific career[edit]
She earned her Ph.D. in Medicine (Psychiatry) in 2019 at the University of Adelaide. Meanwhile, she continued working at the University of South Australia as a Research Associate in the area of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (2018 - 2020) and she became Adjunct Associate Lecturer and conducted her subsequent scientific work as a Grant-Funded Researcher in 2020 at the University of Adelaide.

In 2016 she was awarded the Early Career Investigator Program Travel Awards and Oral presentation Finalist during the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics, WCPG 2016. Furthermore, she was granted the Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Foundation 2018 Project Grant and by the Australian Defence Force 2020.[5]
