Logan Keith Williams

Dr Logan Keith Williams (born 12 October 1995) is an inventor[1][2][3], entrepreneur[4], professor, and scientist[5][6] based in Christchurch, New Zealand[7]. He works on materials engineering, pharmaceuticals, education and agritechnology[8]. He was also named in Forbes 30 Under 30 - Asia - Industry, Manufacturing & Energy (2020)[9][1], and a finalist for Young New Zealand of the Year[10][11].

Inventions and Ventures[edit]

  • 2015 - Polarised contact lenses as a preventative measure for photosensitive epilepsy[12][13].
  • 2018 - His method of converting Didymosphenia Geminata (rock snot) an invasive pest algae destroying waterways into paper, bioplastic, and fabric eradicating Didymo across several rivers in New Zealand[14][15][16][17].
  • 2019 – Developed a method to combine sheep's wool with nylon to extract wool composite fiber[18][19][20].
  • 2021 – Created a system to chemically destroy methane[21].
