Long Valley, Lassen County, California
Long Valley is a former settlement in Lassen County, California.[1] It was located in, and took its name from Long Valley, 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Constantia.[1] Emigrants entering California along the Beckwourth Trail passed through the valley.[2] The Long Valley Lumber Company operated the Doyle and Crowder mill, supplying railway ties to the Western Pacific Railway until the need dried up and the mill operations were moved to Susanville.[3]
A post office operated at Long Valley from 1869 to 1912, when it was moved to Constantia, moving also in 1898.[1]
