Louis Wright (born February 20th, 1998) is a British Web Developer and Marketeer. Wright is Head of Digital Operations for the UN Ambassador (CMS).
Formative Years[edit]
Wright was born in London, United Kingdom, and has lived a transient existence, growing up in the Chilterns before settling in Manchester, and then on to Falmouth, Cornwall. He operates as a Digital Operator primarily working with emerging NGO's and small businesses.[1]
He spent each of his first two years of business and digital infrastructure development[2] in Manchester. First attendeding Manchester Metropolitan University and then moving onto Falmouth University, where he studied Advanced Web Development at the award winning and renowned Games Academy. Where BAFTA-winning game developer Rex Crowle also attended.
In his personal life he enjoys regularly attending online podcasts as a guest and his work has featured in numerous press and magazine articles including; ONN Network,[3] Manchester TV, Essex Magazine, and enjoys spreading his experiences online..
Wright is an advocate for climate change awareness[4] and human rights. Wright's most well know quote "Instagram is the modern wild west"[5] which is one in a series detailing his personal opinions on the lack of accountability online and possible solutions, addressing the lack of ownership on comments online that lead to bullying and internet trolls.
Career[edit]
From 20015–2018, Wright acted as Head of Digital Operations at In The Pink Ltd, a restaurant and bar group situated in the north of England. His 2017 campaign for Kick Up The 90's & 00's at The Birdcage, featuring Mr Blobby received city wide press. [6][7]
In 2018 Wright took on the role of Head of Digital Operations for UNEP Ambassador (CMS). The 2020-2021 Round Britain Climate Challenge[8] Campaign aimed to raise awareness and collect robust data to be shown to world leaders around the world at COP26, received national press[9] and rallied support within communities in the run up to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Pro Bono Campaigns[edit]
Wright has worked for a number of international NGO's based in the United Kingdom, Madagascar,[10] Peru[11] and Mozambique. He openly offers submissions from charities and organisations for pro bono creative campaigns and development advice. Becoming part of Conservation Without Borders[12] in Q2 - 2018 and assisted in 6 campaigns, including the charities overhaul of their digital appearance in Q3 - 2018.
Awards[edit]
- Awarded a position on a Conservation Team (2018) Bahamas with the aim to save and create awareness to the degradation of Turtle populations and Coral Reefs.[13]
- Awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award for 80 mile canoe along the River Severn.[14]
- Invited to compete at the annual Bath Cup at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in The London Aquatics Centre 2015,[15] 2016.[16]
