The end of a brave man (Arabic: نهاية رجل شجاع), is anovel br Syrian writer Hanna Minh, published in 1989.[1][2]
About the novel[edit]
Hanna Minh used the character (Mofeed) to point out the contradictions of the human soul, and the conflict between good and evil within it. Entering into conflicts greater than him, in conjunction with his unthoughtful impulse and his adherence to his opinion without prior thinking, and this nature overcomes the will of man at times.[3]
- A series was produced with the same title and story of the novel with minor differences in the two stories, starring Ayman Zaidan as Mofeed El Wahsh, directed by Najda Ismail Anzour.
Novel story[edit]
The story tells of Mufid. That he was raised by his father, who was working as a farmer, and he used to abuse him violently with the aim of a proper upbringing. However, this violence this violence effected his son, and it turned into a bad habit syndrome. At the age of twelve, Mufid cut off a donkey tail, which angered all the villagers, and his nickname had became (Mufeed al-Wahsh), and that was reason his father tied him to a tree trunk and hit him in front of the villagers. This aggressive behavior was reflected on the poor boy, so he had to leave his family, neighbors and his village and he did not return to it. With the advent of the French occupation to his homeland (Syria), the French imprisoned him for two years, after a quarrel with them. The port of Latakia, and because of his physical strength and courage, its residents used to count him a thousand. Despite everything, the tendency of violence remained within him, and he got into many problems and quarrels, until the day he returned to prison for more five years, then he fell ill with diabetes there, and the doctors had to amputate his leg, to get out from prison and he had become a different man, full of depression and only dreams of having prosthetic legs to come back to life, an old friend of his who stood by him in his ordeal and gave him hope and returned (Mofeed) to work .One day, an old enemy who was with him in the harbor encountered him, and they quarreled, which prompted the police to stop him and cut off his dreams before they came true, and here Mufid's violent and unconscious tendency returned, and he killed a man, and then committed suicide, after finding that his life had no meaning.[4]
