Madmax
Madmax is the first episode of Season 2. Inside Penticton, a local bank has just been robbed of 200,000 dollars, and the thieves, including Kali Prasad, drive into a tunnel. Officer Columbo sees rocks in the tunnel, he is scared and crashes his van into the tunnel, causing his truck to explode. Meanwhile, in Hawkins, the kids are looking for money inside of their houses, Dustin Henderson regrets not mowing his lawn, and then calls Mike Wheeler, who steals all of Nancy Wheeler’s money, the kids play Dig Dug, and Will Byers arrives. The kids decide to play the board game dragon’s lair, where Dustin loses and starts swearing. Dustin is informed that he was beaten in Dig Dug and Centipede, where he then realizes that Max Mayfield beat his high score. Jim Hopper goes to work where he is visited by Murray Bauman, who thinks that the Russians, such as Yuri Ismaylov, Grigori, and Alexei, are coming this summer to attack them. When Hopper brushes this off, Murray tells him that he could die. Nancy does all of Steve Harrington’s homework for him, and as Nancy gives it to Steve, a car crushes the homework, and Billy Hargrove steps out of the car, Steve is very angry. The kids see Max Mayfield coming to school and are mad that she beat them. Scott Clarke explains brains in the class. Joyce Byers and Bob Newby are in the storage room of the store that they are in, making love with each other, and Joyce tells Bob that she saw the first shadow. Hopper goes to the pumpkin patch and sees that the pumpkins were rotting. He sees Rosario eating the pumpkins and shoos her away. He thinks that the pumpkins are alive and that they will eat people. Jonathan Byers and Nancy decide to go to the party on Halloween, Nancy isn’t sure she wants to come, but Jonathan insists that Nancy comes, Steve backs Jonathan up and tells Nancy to please come. The kids start chasing Max and want to get revenge on her for taking away their high score, but she, as a zoomer, zooms away on her scooter and throws away her flyer. Dustin watches Max beat his high score and is horrified at what he sees. Karen Wheeler tells Mike that he should donate some of his toys, Mike willingly agrees, since he knows it is for the greater good. He donates his Lego Cloud city, as well as his Minifigure collection, including Revan, a black ARF trooper, and he decides to donate his Millenium falcon, before remembering Eleven, who has previously lifted it. Nancy and Steve visit Barb Holland’s parents, who say that they hired Murray to find Barb, and how he claimed that she fell into the pool at a party in Maple street, or maybe she was at Comic-Con. Barb’s parents say that they sold their million dollar mansion to afford tickets to Comic-Con to find Barb. Nancy hears about this and enters the bathroom, quietly crying to herself, she brushed Barb’s death as an accident. Dustin hears D'Artagnan in the trash can but goes home anyways. Will draws drawings of a boy who is also a zombie, Jonathan finds this disturbing and thinks that Will is a freak. Hopper returns home, where he is angry that desert was eaten already.
