Early Life

Billy Hargrove is the family's oldest child, and was born 4 years before Max Mayfield, his younger sister. Billy Hargrove grew up and was really interested in being a lifeguard, and when he was 18, he became a lifeguard working at Hawkins Public Pool. Billy loved crowd surfing as a child and used to sneak into random concerts just to crowd surd before getting kicked out. Because of how much trouble he would get into for crowd surfing, his parents got very mad at him and they divorced, leaving him to live with his father in Hawkins. In 1984, Billy began his education at Hawkins High School, and he crushed Steve's homework, making his first enemy. Billy was a maniac and loved ending lives, so when he saw Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Will Byers crossing the road, he drove as fast as he could while Max could do nothing but watch Billy ram into them. Max got very angry at Billy for trying to crush all of the kids.

Career

Billy Hargrove got hired at the Hawkins Public Pool in 1984, and he worked there until his untimely end. Billy worked alongside his boss, Chet, who was poisoned by a very moldy pretzel. After Chet's end, Billy realized that there was no one who could stop him from doing whatever he wanted to do. Billy took off his clothes in an act of rebellion since he hated his job, and he even goes home early. On one day, while going home, he met the Mind Flayer and started working alongside it. He helped the Mind Flayer by kidnapping people, and fed the Mind Flayer Heather Holloway, his least favorite co-worker. The kids got suspicious that Billy became the last working lifeguard, so they crafted a fake CPR Dummy and a firestarter. The kids placed the dummy into the sauna and Billy attempted to attack it. When the kids see Billy bullying the dummy, they lock the door behind him and try to turn the heat up to 150 C, but Billy confesses that he only bullied because he was being bullied and bullying makes him feel better. He tries to end the kids, but the kids defeat him and escape.

Personal Life

Billy Hargrove soon became the Mind Flayer's most loyal servant, and he wrote down about everything he did to help the Mind Flayer inside of his diary. He wrote about his past as well as things that he is helping the Mind Flayer do, he wrote about the people that he helped take care of so that the Mind Flayer can win easily, such as Heather, Janet Holloway and Tom Holloway, and many more. He also wrote a personalized message to Eleven, telling her that he sent the Mind Flayer after her and that she was doomed. Billy knew that the Mind Flayer had cornered the kids inside of Starcourt Mall, so he chased the kids in, he realized that Steve Harrington, Robin Buckley, and some of the kids were evacuating, so he decided to ram his car into them in an attempt to destroy them. Steve knew Billy was attempting to end them, so he tossed everyone out of the car and sacrificed himself to destroy Billy's car. Because of this, Billy couldn't rush in to help the Mind Flayer, and he knew the Mind Flayer would be disappointed in him, so when he finally entered the mall, as he saw the Mind Flayer dying and Eleven using the sword to deliver the final blow, he sacrificed himself to stop Eleven from being able to end the Mind Flayer, and as he finally collapsed, his final words to the Mind Flayer were that he was sorry for not being there for it.
