Mandalay Sports Media, formally Mandalay Sports Entertainment (MSE) is a subsidiary of Mandalay Entertainment Group. MSM is an American entertainment company co-founded in 2012 by Peter Guber and Michael Tollin, with interests in major motion sports pictures, unscripted sports films, sports documentaries, and sports entertainment in general.[1][2]
History[edit]
MSM previously had sub company Mandalay Baseball LLC which owned a number of minor-league baseball teams.[3] In 2017 it was announced that IMG and Mandalay Sports Media were partnering to develop and finance feature films about sports alongside Carl Hampe and Catch and Release's Tom Heller and Frank Hall Green. On September 14, 2020, a series called Underrated was launched with Bleacher Reporter. The show highlighted NFL players trying to improve their ratings in the video game known as Madden NFL.[4] In 2022 it was announced that Mandalay would partner with Netflix to produce a documentary about in 2008 U.S. men's basketball Olympic team.[5][6] Earlier that year a documentary was announced about Derek Jeter.[7]
