Max Moreno Laurentino Nunes (born August 7, 1968) is a Brazilian novelist and short story writer. He writes books that involve crime, suspense and psychological fiction.[1]
Early life and education
Max was born in Paraná and grew up in São Paulo where he had his first contact with literature. He was only an eight-year-old boy and studied at Professor Walter Schepis State School in Guarujá, São Paulo when he started reading “O Escaravelho do Diabo, a children's book by the Brazilian author Lúcia Machado de Almeida. Max was fascinated by the story of Alberto, the central character, who, seeing his brother being murdered after receiving a mysterious package with a scarab, decides to investigate the crime. From that day on, he started writing his own stories, but the dream of writing[2] his first book would only come true many years later. Max is graduated from the UniCesumar (Centro Universitário de Maringá).
Career
“A Outra Sombra[3]” (The Other Shadow[4]), his debut book was published in 2013, and soon it became one of the most talked about on the internet. In 2015, the book was translated into English and published[5] by America Star Publishing, being sold in several countries, including Canada, the United States of America and The United Kingdom. In 2016, Max was invited to participate in a tribute to the German-American writer Charles Bukowski, with the short story “Vinte Pratas”, which is part of the collection “Big Buka – Para Charles Bokowski”, organized by Afobório - Editora Os Dez Melhores. In 2019, Max[6] was one of the authors selected to participate in the IV Anthology of Contemporary Brazilian Poetry[7] “Além da Terra, Além do Céu[8]”, organized by Editora Chiado. The book has the same name of a poem by Carlos Drummond de Andrade and brings new talents from Brazilian Literature. "As Paredes Eram Brancas[9][10] " his second novel[11] was published[12] in 2020.

Max lives in Campo Mourão, Paraná with his wife and their two children[13]
