Meng Bo (born March 29, 1996) is a Chinese mixed martial artist who competes in the strawweight division of ONE Championship, Asia’s largest martial arts organization.[1]
Background[edit]
Meng trained Taekwondo during her childhood beginning at 13 years of age. It was her first foray into martial arts. When she was 18, Meng attended Xi’an Martial Arts University. It was there that her fellow classmates encouraged her to use her skills in combat sports and actively compete in mixed martial arts.[2][3]
Mixed martial arts career[edit]
On November 9, 2013, Meng made her professional debut against future UFC strawweight champion Weili Zhang. Meng would win the bout by unanimous decision.[4]
From December 19, 2015 to December 3, 2016, Meng went on an eight-fight win streak to improve her professional record to 9-2. Her win streak made her a prospect to watch as she developed her all-around skill set.
After setbacks in 2017, Meng went on a three-fight win streak in 2018 under the Glory of Heroes banner. The three consecutive victories earned her a contract with ONE Championship.
On November 16, 2019, Meng debuted in ONE at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS. She defeated Laura Balin by one-punch knockout in the first round.[5]
