Michele R. Wells
Michele R. Wells is the Vice President and Executive Editor, DC Books for Young Readers.[1] In 2017, Wells was recruited by DC to found the company's middle grade and young adult graphic novel imprints.[2] Prior to DC, Wells served as Executive Editor at Disney Publishing Worldwide, the world's largest children's publishing company. Wells was the Founding Chairperson of First Book-Brooklyn[3], a nonprofit organization that provides new books to kids in need[4][5]; is on the Advisory Board of Library for All; and volunteers regularly with LA- and NYC-based literacy and mentoring programs. The author of several books for children and young adults, she lives in Los Angeles.
In August 2020, she was named DC's interim editor-in-chief along with Marie Javins, replacing Bob Harras.[6]
