Misr Spinning and Weaving Company Clock Tower is a freestanding clock and bell tower in El Mahalla El Kubra, Gharbia Governorate, Egypt. It was designed and built by Gillett & Johnston (Croydon, England). Its bell was cast and mechanical components were manufactured in 1947.[1] The pinnacle height of the clock tower is 90 metres (300 ft).[1] The structural height is 70 metres (230 ft).[1] Clock faces are 5.2 m (17 ft).[1] The technical supervision was by construction manager Allenby, mechanical structures engineer Joseph Heron Knight construction engineer Sami Behairy, mechanical installations engineer Ezzedine Abdullah, and electrical installations engineer Mahmoud El-Tawgy. Electrical and mechanical adjustments were made under the supervision of Gharib Bakri, department manager at the electric power station between 1982 and 2009.[1]
