Miss Supranational is a beauty contest initiated by the World Beauty Association with headquarters in Panama, which began in 2009.[1][2] The current Miss Supranational is Srinidhi Shetty from India who was crowned on December 2nd, 2016 in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland.
History[edit]
Miss Supranational held since 2009, but after the organization of Miss Supranational 2013, one of the founders of the organization, Carsten Mohr, decided to leave and set up a new contest with the same name (Miss Supranational version Mohr). But the new contest is not approved and rejected by The Communist pageant.[3]
The format of the competition[edit]
Early implementation, Miss Supranational choose the Top 15 in the final round.
In 2010, the format was changed to Top 20 semifinalists, followed by the Top 10 for the clothing pool sessions and evening dresses.
In 2013, the public can choose one contestant's entry in the Top 20 by the People's choice .
In 2016, the format of the Top 25 semi-finals, where the public can support through Facebook that will automatically get a position in the Top 25, and via the application Mobstar will get the Top 1
