ModulTrade is a blockchain-based platform for B2B and B2C e-commerce, that provides an all-in-one solution for payments and trade.[1] It is aimed at lowering barriers to global trade by enabling enterprises to trade in trustless manner with smart contracts who replicate the letter of credit and by providing them with all-in-one service for end-to-end B2B trade.[2]

ModulTrade’s concept was developed at the MIT between October 2016 and March 2017.[3] In 2017 the first MVP was developed and the concept was launched to the public and summarized into ModulTrade white paper. In September 2017 ModulTrade’s nominated its advisory board, whose members also include Bernard Lietaer.[4] On November 28 2017 Modultrade launched its token sale which ended on January 27 2018, with the distribution of the MTRc, its crypto-token, for about 12 millions of USD.[5] [6]
