As the name implies, modular learning refers to learning modules that allow students to learn on their own.

In response to the COVID19 pandemic the Department of Education of the Phillipines (DepEd) rolled out a distance education program, which they called Modular Learning.The objective was to ensure that all students have access to education during the pandemic, while traditional face-to-face classes are still prohibited due to the public health situation.[1][2]

Radio-based instruction[edit]

The Radio-Based Instruction (RBI)[3]program is one of the alternative learning delivery modalities that uses student self-learning modules to deliver the lesson via radio broadcast (SLM). To allow pupils to study at their own pace and develop skills or competences based on their capacities.

Blended learning[edit]

Integrated technology[4]and digital media are combined with traditional instructor-led classroom activities in blended learning (also known as hybrid learning), offering students more flexibility to customize their learning experiences.

Television based[edit]

The agency's television-based[5] teaching is carried on national and regional partner stations under the name "DepEd TV." ... They will be used to measure DepEd TV's efficacy and effectiveness in ensuring that learners comprehend the lessons and competencies they need for the school year, according to the Department of Education.

Online learning[edit]

It is an online platform[6] for public school teachers to facilitate distance learning modes, according to the Department of Education. In the event of class suspensions or other similar events, it was created as a direct solution for providing access to online study materials and Open Educational Resources (OERs).
