Mohammad Mohasin (born 6 October 1987) is a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He is a wicket-keeper. He has taken the most runs (57) in T20 International (T20I) series.[citation needed] He is the first player to win the ‘Man of the Match’ award on both T20I.[citation needed]
Mohasin made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against India in June 2014. Later that year, he played his first Twenty20 International matches against India and Nepal, respectively.
Before his international career, Mohasin played in the 2013 Domestic Cricket. He also represented Wheelchair cricket Welfare Association in the 2016 Wheelchair cricket Welfare Assocition Club.
Early and personal life
Mohammad Mohasin grew up in the small town of Tongi in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[citation needed] He is the youngest of Abdus Sattar and Moriom Begum's two children.[citation needed] His father is an enthusiastic fan of cricket.[1] Mohasin’s interest in cricket rose when he started practicing the game 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from home every morning, with his friend Polash. This affected his education as he occasionally missed school to play cricket.
Prior to discovering his wicket-keeping talents, Mohasin played as a batsman with a Normal bat & Gloves.[2] According to him, he took inspiration from Bangladesh Allrounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is his idol.[citation needed]
Early career
In 2015, Mohasin travelled to India's capital Uttarakhand to play in a T20I Wheelchair cricket Match Bangladesh vs India.[citation needed] Prior to that, scouts first encountered him in a Walton series tournament in Dhaka University Playground. He is a founder at Wheelchair cricket Welfare Association Bangladesh.[3]
Mohasin started First-class cricket from 2015, representing Mymensingh Wheelchair cricket Mymensingh Division, Rangpur Wheelchair cricket Rangpur Division and Rajshahi Wheelchair cricket Rajshahi Limited, respectively.[4] He was picked for Bangladesh A's tour of India.[citation needed]
Bangladesh Cricket Association For the physically challenged
On 23 June 2014, Mohasin made his first T20I as a Captain Of The Tajmahal Trophy in Uttarakhand T20I India Wheelchair cricket team in Bangladesh Cricket Association For the physically challenged in 2014 T20I against India As Bangladesh Physically Challenged Cricket Team came back with the Tajmahal Trophy, one month later, members of the winning team received an invitation from the Prime Minister’s office. Following that, Bangladesh Physically Challenged Cricket Team members, team officials, BCAPC|BCAPC, and sponsors went to meet the PM on 17 July 2014. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave a warm reception and awarded one lakh taka to each member of the team.
Wheelchair Cricket Welfare Association Bangladesh
Wheelchair Cricket Welfare Association Bangladesh.[5] Is a National level Non-govt and non-profitable Organization. The Organization has been Working Since-2010 for the people with Disabilities in Bangladesh aiming to incorporate them in mainstream society through the game of Cricket. In 2016, the organization registered under the Social Welfare Department of Govt the people’s republic of Bangladesh. WCWAB has elected executive board, consists of 7 members where 4 of them are wheelchair users. Mohammad Mohasin[6] is The Founder & President [6] and Md. Mahabubur Rahaman Chowdhury (Polash)[7] is the Co-founder & Secretary. empowerment of people with Disabilities with special attention to reduce discrimination and uniting them to improve their social and economic condition. The organization’s motto is to give a platform to differently capable people to show their latent talent. So they can get equal rights and a dignified life in Society. We believe Cricket that binds the nation together regardless of caste, race, political ideology and religion can play a pivotal role in getting support for the wheelchair cricketers.
Asia Cup T20 2019
This will be the first-ever Asia Cup 2019 in the history of wheelchair cricket Bangladesh will participate in the Asia Cup T20 Tournament 2019, which will take place in Nepal. This will be the first-ever Asia Cup in the history of wheelchair cricket. Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Nepal will compete in the tournament. We have started working since 1st October 2014. The team created history in Bangladesh by jointly Organizing the ‘1st National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament (2016) in Dhaka, Bangladesh-India Wheelchair Cricket Series 2017 in Dhaka, and won the series by 2-1 with the support of Imago Sports Management Limited. We have participated in 7 became Runners Up in‘1st International Wheelchair Cricket T20 Tri-Series 2017 in Nepal. Series Winner ‘Bangladesh Vs India-Bilateral T20 Tournament, India, March 2018’ & Champion in ‘Tri-Nation T20 Wheelchair Cricket Tournament, India, April 2018’. We have quality domestic tournaments like” Dreams on Wheels” Divisional Cricketers Hunt 2018, Yearly National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament and Friendly Matches. With these continuous successes, we have been honored by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Won Joy Bangla Youth Award in 2017. So far Wheelchair Cricket Bangladesh have participated in 5 international Tournament. Of these Tournament, they are 2 Champions and 3 Runners-up.
Social Work
When I was 12 years old, I saw some social barriers. Disabled people have to go through many kinds of problems in society. Since then, I wanted to stand by their side, which I have been able to do. Now I am working with Junior Chamber International (JCI) voluntarily, in the International Council of Wheelchair Cricket General Secretary, in the International cricket council for the physically challenged Vice chairman, Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum voluntarily.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket was established in 2014. We have come through a lot of Domestic Tournaments and International Series as well. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Bangladesh Government's Disabled department are directly working with us to make it a World-class cricket team in the Wheelchair arena. Some of our achievements are as follows.
- BWC won the Tajmahal Trophy in India.
- BWC won the Bangladesh Government's prestigious Joy Bangla Award.
- BWC won the bilateral series against India in 2017
- BWC became the runner up of the 1st International Tri-Nation Wheelchair Cricket T20I Series in Nepal.
- BWC won the bilateral series against India in India, 2018
- BWC became the unbeaten champion of the 2nd International Tri-Nation Wheelchair Cricket T20I Series in India against India & Nepal, 2018.
