Mordibathor is a death metal band that was formed on March 1, 2002.
The band comes from Šala. The founding members of the formation were:
- singer Dávid "Zombie" Menyhart
- guitarist Martin "Šimbi" Šimboch
- drummer Juraj "Georgio" Strapko
- bassist Tomáš "Krajo" Krajča
The minimum age of the members was 17 at that time. From the beginning, the effort was to play and make own songs, not songs of other performers. The genre was also defined from the beginning - death metal. After three concerts, misfortune befell the band: Singer Zombie was hit by a driver under the influence of alcohol at the end of the summer of 2002, and Zombie succumbed to his injuries on the spot at the age of 18. The band members considered this the end of the band, but in October 2002 they decided to continue due to their love for music and approached his girlfriend Lenka Andrašková as the only possible replacement for Zombie. She accepted the role of singer and took Zombie's place behind the microphone.
At the end of 2003, the first demo was recorded, called ...viem, kde spíš.... It was not recorded in a studio, which was also reflected in the sound quality, but it still found supporters and critics.
The year 2004 brought personal changes: bass guitarist Krajo left the band and they continue to perform without him. Japanese publishers, Bloodbath Rec. offered to help the group, on the condition that they record a new demo in the studio.
In 2005, based on the old demo, the band got a sponsor and recorded a CD called DEMOralization, which contained 6 songs and as a bonus 5 more from the old demo. It was officially published at the beginning of April 2006 in a circulation of 1,200 copies. The reward for the effort is the positive feedback from the fans and the publisher, and last but not least, a form of presentation of the Slovak music scene abroad.
