Mundo (formerly, Volcano and Volcano Springs)[2] is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California.[1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 7.5 miles (12 km) southeast of Frink,[2] at an elevation of 190 feet (58 m) below sea level.[1]
The Volcano Springs post office was operated from 1901 to 1902 by Dr. Mundo, from whom the region derives its name.[2]
