Acolita is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California.[1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad, 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Glamis,[2] at an elevation of 276 feet (84 m).[1] The town was named after the Spanish word for acolyte for unknown reasons.[3]
