Munjanur (aka Munjanoor / Monjanoor / Monjanur) is a village of Thiruchengode taluk located in Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu, India.

Demographics

As of 2019 India census,[1] Munjanur has a population of more than 5000. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Munjanur has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 47%. In Munjanur, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Munjanur is populated by Kongu Vellalars, also known as Kongu Gounder, and their main income is agriculture.

The village has various temples like Mariamman Koil, Kaaliamman Koil, Keerambur Ettukaiamman Koil. Munjanur is a parent village which includes the sub villages like Mettukkattampalayam, Koothampalayam, Kallupalayam.
