Enaruna Edosomwan (born 15 November 1983), also known as "NaXis De Genexis" but popularly called by his stage name NaXis DG, is a Nigerian Afro pop musician, singer, and songwriter. Multiple Eu afro music award winner, In 2013, "South South Music Awards - Nominated As Most Popular Artists in Diaspora."

Biography[edit]

NaXis DG was born at Edo State, Benin City, in Nigeria.[1] in 1998 he started singing with a Church choir in Benin city , Edo State where he developed his love for music, he was introduced to Pop music by his childhood friend, after much performances in local schools and university campus UNIBEN where national medias reporters got involved in promoting his talent, in the year 2000, he stole his mothers money "300 naira" to buy a second hand Guitar, and started attending classes due to his vision for music, he was later arrested and detained by his family, while he was in the children's Welfare department, he got inspired by listening to Micheal Jacksons music, and R.Kelly on radios, where he was restricted, after his release he was encouraged by his father, the Educator and the Social assistance in charge,to carry on his music career, this was how he started.

in 2007,he left Nigeria for Italy to pursue his professional music studies, he has recorded various singles and collaborated in Europe with numbers of noted international musicians for studio sections, like the Nigeria Reggae Musician Winning Jah , he was signed to Enorecords Snc alongside with artists like "Supreme Leo" , King Wadada . He is known for his frequent elegant deliverey of urban pop and Dancehall hits. He is best known for his songs"Gbedu"[2][3][4][5][6] In 2015, NaXis DG a.k.a NaXis De Genexis lead a massive campaign in collaboration with Winning Jah to investigate fake Charity organisations in Republic of Benin West Africa, due to the extreme poverty in continuation in the "Segbeya" comunity, this initiative provoked him to donate his Voice during the release of the duet track "To Whom it May Concern" in collaboration with UNICEF and UN featured by Winning Jah[7]

Obstacles[edit]

In early 2010 NaXIS DG had a music deal with Coca Cola , while he was managed by the European DJ Balihood, on their way to sign the deal, due to massive argument and misunderstanding between them, they had a car accident, he was unconcious for 7 months, while Balihood died on the spot, NaXis was finally discharged on 10 October 2016 after a long term rehabilitation from the general hospital of Modena, "Baggiovara" in Italy [8] [9]

Success[edit]

in 2016, he signed a management deal with Enorecords Snc, alongside with other Nigeria artists, like Sidney Leo a.k.a Supreme Leo, king Wadada, Ebere Chi and many other top charts musicians from Italy , in 2017 he signed a distribution deal with VPAL music record label, a parent label to world known best reggae industry VP Records he is recently working with the Nigeria Reggae Superstar Winning Jah for various Africa Reggae projects. he has worked with the Kora Award Winner king Wadada NaXis DG fits squarely in the latter category. In possession of a lyrical incisiveness, captivating, melodic irresistibility, one whose music feels familiar in the best possible way, fresh, distinctive and Grand technique.

in 2007, NaXis DG set to release a debut studio single "Esè" meaning thanks giving in Yoruba language due to his rapid recovery and victory, by 24 of February 2017 to be released by VPAL [10]

In 2014, he won "Naija EU Awards - Break Through Artist of the year.", in 2015, he won "ADMA Awards - Best Performing Artist Of the Year." In 2015, he won"ARA Awards - Best Afro Beat & RnB Artist of the Year".[11][12]
