Najla Galal el-Sayed Allam (Arabic: نجلاء علام) is an Egyptian author and researcher. She is also the editor-in-chief of the Dew Train Magazine since 2018, and a member of the “Writers' Union Of Egypt”, as well as “The General Union of Arab Writers”, and “Cairo Atelier”.

Allam held several positions, including the director general of the Children's Cultural Committee in the Ministry of Culture. and the rapporteur of the Child Culture Committee in the Supreme Council for Culture.[1] She is also the supervisor of the Children’s Literature Clubs in the  General authority for Cultural Palaces.

Najla Allam wrote several novels, books and short story collections, including The Life of the Heart, Lightful Wishes', Dew Drops, Prince of Stories, The Return of a Wandering Soul, Half an Eye, and Little Elephants that Didn't Die!.[2]

Allam obtained two Diplomas: One in strategic planning in 2013 from the National Planning Institute in Egypt, and a second one in theater studies in 1994 from Ain Shams University in Egypt. She also obtained a bachelor's degree in commerce in 1991 from the same university.

  • 1996:The War Literature Prize in the Short Story, organized by Akhbar Al-Adab newspaper in cooperation with Al-Nasr magazine
  • 1997: Mahmoud Taymour Award for Arab Narrative Creativity, from the Supreme Council of Culture
  • 2000: Souad Al-Sabah Prize for Intellectual and Literary Creativity
  • 2001: Iqra Foundation Prize for Narrative Creativity
  • 2011: The Cultural Resource Scholarship in the field of Literature at the level of the Arab world for her novel “Going out into the Day”
