Naresh Shanker is an American technology executive. He is the founder and managing director of Menlo Park Advisors, a consulting firm specializing in new ventures and digital transformation.

Education

Shanker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois.[1]

Career

In 2023, Shanker established Menlo Park Advisors, a consulting firm advising corporate boards, startups, and venture funds on technology-driven business strategies including digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), software-as-a-service (SaaS), cloud computing, and go-to-market execution.[2]

In 2019, Shanker became Chief Information Officer at Xerox Corporation, where he led a major digital transformation initiative. He was subsequently appointed President and CEO of Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), where he managed engineers across global R&D centers. As CEO of PARC, he built and sold 3D Elem to ADDiTEC3D, and also built and spun out additional ventures including Novity TruPrognostics AI, and Mojave HVAC companies.[3][4][5][6]

Shanker served as Chief Information Officer at HP Inc. from 2012 to 2018, leading digital initiatives.[7] He oversaw the launch of a global e-commerce platform, cloud computing solutions including SAP and Microsoft Dynamics integrations, and the incorporation of Samsung’s printer division and Palm’s mobility business.[8]

From 2006 to 2012, he was the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Palm, Inc.[9]. He has also worked at Agilent Technologies and HP Medical Products Group.[9]

Shanker is the inventor of U.S. Patent No. 9,563,908, which pertains to a transaction processing circuit for mobile payment systems.[10]
