In 2019, the National Forest Foundation launched its annual National Forest Week[1] campaign to spread awareness of the 193-million acre National Forest System. National Forest Week takes place each year during the second full week of July. The celebrations include a photo contest, kick-off event, and social media hashtag #NationalForestWeek. In 2020, the theme of National Forest Week was “Discover Unforgettable Experiences” and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Forest Foundation and its partners pivoted to all online celebrations including a virtual event every day of the week[2].
