Nosheen Phoenix (born February 21, 1983) is a British actress, singer-songwriter, and model from London, England and is of Pakistani decent. She is known for her work on Modern Family, Mike & Molly, Happy Endings, Grey's Anatomy, and for portraying Nayyara on the HBO series The Brink.

Career[edit]

Prior to her acting work in the United States, she was a member of the UK band, DeVoted,[1] before moving on to her solo music projects. She is credited as a songwriter on Japanese artist Kumi Koda's No.1 single Physical Thing. She has been modeling since the age of 20,[2][3] in both print and commercial, as well as several well known Indian music videos.[4]

She first moved to New York City in 2009 before later moving to Los Angeles in 2012 to fully pursue her acting career where she now resides. In 2013, she appeared in Modern Family[5] as Daliya, and in Grey's Anatomy as Whitney. In 2014, she played Jasmine in the feature film, Confessions of a Womanizer, alongside C. Thomas Howell, Gary Busey, and Jillian Rose Reed.

In 2015, Nosheen had a four-episode recurring role as Nayyara on the HBO series The Brink, starring Tim Robbins and Jack Black. In 2016, she was cast as a lead in the horror short film, Vexed,[6][7] and as Gina in the feature film, Winter Wedding, in 2017.[8]
