Notebook is an Indian e-learning platform launched in 2018. The company was founded by Achin Bhattacharyya and Subhayu Roy and is headquartered in Kolkata.[5], India.
Notebook provides educational content to CBSE, ICSE, UP and WB state board students in both English and vernacular-aided bilingual formats.[6][1][7]
History[edit]
Notebook[8] is a brand owned and operated by ABJ Eduventures Pvt. Ltd, and was founded by Achin Bhattacharyya, a former director at Deloitte[9][10][11], along with Subhayu Roy.
It was founded on 28 June 2018 and was launched nationwide[12][13][14] on 26 January 2019- India's Republic Day, by the former Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education, Mr. Ashok Ganguly,[15][16] who was brought in as a senior advisor in the company.[17]
Companies such as BSNL, Paytm, Build-a-class, Aflatoun International (Netherlands HQ-ed NGO), etc. have chosen Notebook to be their edtech partner.[4]
COVID-19 pandemic[edit]
Starting from April to May 2020, Notebook provided free[18][19][20] online access to all teachers and students.
Powered with Notebook content, Ramakrishna Mission CBSE School, Gwalior, became the first school in India to go online.[21]
Notebook live events[edit]
During the school shutdown, Notebook organised online live events such as the ‘Together for Education’[22][23][24][25] webinar series, the Zero Hour[26][27][28][29] Debate Competition, and the Notebook Ignite Inter-School Innovation Challenge[30][31][32][33]
