Ondřej Beránek (born February 23, 1979, Havlíčkův Brod) is a Czech film producer. He co-founded the production company Punk Film and the acclaimed [1][2] Karel Zeman Museum in Prague.
Life and education[edit]
Beránek was born in Havlíčkův Brod (Czech Republic). In 1998 he moved to Prague, where he studied film production at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is married and has two children.

Film Production[edit]
In 2003 he and his partners Martin Hůlovec and Jakub Drocár founded the production company Punk Film. By the year 2018 the company has produced an epic Czech fairytale "The Magic Quill", several documentaries, mid-length movies, an animated film and co-produced multiple Bollywood features[3]. The company also produces TV commercials and Music Videos.
Karel Zeman Museum[edit]
Beranek is a co-author of the concept of Karel Zeman Museum in Prague and in 2015 also launched the project "Restoring a World of Fantasy" aimed to restore classic movies by filmmaker Karel Zeman[4]. While shooting the documentary "Film Adventurer Karel Zeman"[5] Beránek met with the British director and a member of the famous Monty Python group, Terry Gilliam, who later became the patron of the cinematic re-release of a restored edition of Karel Zeman's movie The Fabulous Baron Munchausen.
Memory of Nations Award[edit]
In 2010 he was a producer of the social and educational project "We Did Not Give Up" and organized the first Memory of Nations Award ceremony.[6]
