Pager Power Ltd. was founded as a professional consulting firm for electricity companies on 30 December 1997 by Mike Watson.[1][2][3] [4][5][6][7][8]Pager Power has evolved its services and has its in-house software to assess complex problems of interference.[2][9][5][7]
History[edit]
Pager Power Ltd. got its name from an invention, which controlled storage heaters using radio signals broadcast by the national radio paging network in the UK[8]
The company delivered its first Radar Impact Assessment in 2002 for the proposed Quarter Fell Wind Development being developed by British Energy in South West Scotland.[6][7]
Pager Power Ltd[edit]
With the assessment of television interference and microwave radio links, Pager Power Ltd., expanded its services for wind farms.[10][5][6] [7][11][12][13]The company provided aeronautical radio assessments and environmental safeguarding assessments for potential impacts on DVOR beacons and Instrument Landing System.[14][15][8][16]
The company then started developing online tools and undertook global wind projects.[5][7][8] By 2013, Pager Power had worked on 24% of United Kingdom wind farms including FIT (Feed-In Tariff) turbines.[3][4][8] Due to the change in government policy, Wind farming declined significantly.[17][8] Pager Power then moved on to the solar glare and glint assessments, which predicted the reflection impacts from Solar PV arrays on roads, railways, pilots, and houses.[10][5][8]
Pager Power Ltd. has its in-house software developed for solar glare and glint assessments.[9][8] Currently the company assesses the technical impacts of tall buildings and their impacts on low flying aircraft, television reception, and radar systems.[6][18][8][19]
