Palmerbet is an Australian gambling company[1] owned and operated by Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd.[2] First beginning as a family-run business in 1960, the company now comprises a team of more than 100 employees. Palmerbet offer betting services online through their website and mobile app (on iOS and Android, with positive reviews[3]) as well as by telephone, across a number of sporting and entertainment markets.

Palmerbet offers a wide range of products, including Same Game Multi and Same Race Multi,[4] as well as providing additional features such as Race Form, Speed Map and Expert Tips and more, so customers have plenty of options to select from.

Palmerbet is licensed by[5] Racing NSW and Liquor & Gaming NSW and is financially guaranteed by the NSW Bookmakers Co-operative.[6] The company is headquartered in Sydney,[7] Australia.

History[edit]

The company was first founded by Ted Palmer in 1960. Ted operated as an on-course bookmaker around the local rails and interstate betting rings. The business has been in the Palmer family since.

In 2013, brothers Grant, Matthew and Andrew Palmer, grandsons of Ted Palmer and third generation bookmakers of the Palmer family, left their successful careers in finance[8] and took the business online under the name Palmerbet.

In November 2021, NRL team Canberra Raiders signed up Palmerbet as their Official Wagering Partner for 3 years starting from the 2022 NRL season and feature prominently on the back of the Raiders jerseys throughout this period.[9] Also, in the same month Palmerbet infused Artificial Intelligence to their own online systems with the help of Bet Technology[10] resulting in zero downtime associated with betting spikes.

Palmerbet are also sponsoring NRL team Newcastle Knights on a 3-year deal starting from the 2022 season and will feature on the sternum part of the jersey for 1st year, then on the back of the jersey for the remaining 2 years.[11]

Palmerbet were named as title sponsors of the Australian leg of the World Series of Darts in August 2022,[12] organised by Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), in both Townsville and Wollongong.

Since sponsoring Paul Gallen vs Justis Huni in June 2021, Palmerbet has made a significant investment towards boxing, working closely with promoters No Limit Boxing and D&L Events, along with other combat promoters, as Official Wagering Partners of specific events and featuring prominently across all branding, including canvas, ropes, ring posts and bolsters.

As of 2022, Palmerbet operate from offices at Canterbury Racecourse in New South Wales, Australia.

Rugby League[edit]

Palmerbet are the Official Wagering Partner of two NRL teams. In 2022, Palmerbet partnered with both the Newcastle Knights[13] and Canberra Raiders.[14] Both partnerships will be in place for at least three years, and will see Palmerbet featured prominently on the teams' jerseys.

Palmerbet are also Official Wagering Sponsors of 2x QRL sides Sunshine Coast Falcons[15] and back to back 2021 & 2022 Title Winners Norths Devils[16] on 3

year deals, from 2022 season. Both teams have Palmerbet branding on the front of their jerseys.

Darts[edit]

In 2022, Palmerbet were announced as the title sponsors for the Australian leg of the 2022 World Series of Darts.[17] The series included three key events in Townsville, Wollongong and Hamilton, NZ – and brought some of the world's top darts players to Australia and New Zealand.

Boxing[edit]

Palmerbet frequently sponsor boxing events in Australia. In 2022, they partnered with No Limits Boxing to sponsor Paul Gallen vs. Kris Terzievski.[18] The match was historic as it was the first time in over 100 years the winner would receive dual titles.

In the same year, Palmerbet also sponsored Justis Huni vs. Joe Goodell[19] and Jai Opetaia vs. Maris Briedis,[20] as well as several other high profile boxing events.
