From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Patricia Anne Johnston (1939-present), was a 20th century Canadian biologist. Born to Canadian parents, William Johnston and Dorothy Purdy, in Vancouver, British Columbia on 29 November 1939, Johnston studied at the University of British Columbia (UBC) (1956-1963), obtaining her Master of Science degree in 1964. At UBC, Johnston worked with Ian McTaggart-Cowan[1] on the early development and application of electrophoresis to wildlife research. Johnston and Cowan were among the first to conduct electrophoretic studies in deer - the subject of over 100 papers in the three decades that followed the publication of their results.[2] In November 1963, she married Gerard Frederick "Jerry" van Tets in Vancouver, moving shortly thereafter to Australia, where she joined the the Australian National University's Botany Department.

Johnston currently lives in Canberra, Australia. She has three children, Janet Bradly, Ian van Tets and Kit Cassidy.
