Paul Utomi is a Nigerian-Ecuatoguinean filmmaker, actor.[1], writer, producer, director, voice-over artist and presenter.His debut feature film as a director, Country Hard, was selected to showcase at the 10th edition of AFRIFF in 2021[2][3]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Born Paul Chibuzor Utomi-Biyang to a Nigerian father and a Ecuatorguinean mother in Madrid, Spain on October 6th 1981. His parents moved back to Nigeria when he was one-year-old.[citation needed]

He studied Economics at Lagos State University, after which he studied acting and directing at the centre for film and video excellence in 2011.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

Early on his career, Paul wrote for a sports publications called The Game Magazine, and also presented several episodes of AM Express Sports on NTA Network Service.[citation needed]

His First Acting role was in NTA TV series, Tarima in 2012 and also starred in Lekki Wives in 2013. Paul's debut feature film as a director, "Country Hard" gained recognition when it was selected to showcase at the 10th edition of AFRIFF in 2021. He has also earned a writer and producer credit for "What Lies Within".
