Pearl Abyss
Pearl Abyss is a video game development studio based in Anyang, South Korea. Daeil Kim founded the company in September 2010.[1]
The company’s debut game was the PC game Black Desert Online which is an open-world action massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Pearl Abyss made their KOSDAQ debut on September 14, 2017.[2][3]

Daeil Kim, a former developer with Hangame and NHN Gaming, formed Pearl Abyss in 2010 as to build and began development of Black Desert Online.[5][6][7]
Pearl Abyss’s main office is located in Anyang, South Korea. The company currently a branch office in Taiwan that was established in November 2016. The company develops their games on a proprietary 3D game engine.[8] [9]
On September 14, 2017, the company launched its initial public offering (IPO) on KOSDAQ, one of South Korean's stock exchanges. At the time, the publisher stated that lifetime revenue from Black Desert was over US$300 million and outlined plans for expansion to additional regions and platforms.[10] By January 2018, following the IPO, the company shared had doubled, with Kim's own valuation growing past US$1.1 billion and placing him in Bloomberg Billionaires Index.[11]
On September 6, 2018, Pearl Abyss announced it had acquired CCP Games, the developers and publishers of EVE Online, for about US$425 million. CCP's development studios remain as their on as part of the acquisition, while CCP's publishing and marketing functions will be integrated into Pearl Abyss.[12]

Pre-registration for Black Desert Mobile started on November 23, 2017.[13]
The game launched in Korea on February 28, 2017.[14]
Black Desert (Console)[edit]
The Xbox One Version of Black Desert will be released in 2018. Playstation 4 version has been confirmed and is in the works.[15][16]
New Projects[edit]
Pearl Abyss have been working on 4 new projects.[17] Counter-Strike creator Minh Le is working on one of the new upcoming projects named Project K.[18][19]
