Prasanna Vadanam is an Indian Telugu thriller film written and directed by debutant Arjun Y K. It was produced by Manikanta JS and Prasad Reddy T R under Little Thoughts Cinemas. It stars Suhas, Payal Radhakrishna, Rashi Singh Nandu, Harsha Chemudu and Nitin Prasanna in lead roles. The film is set to release theatrically on 3 May 2024.[4][5]
Plot[edit]
Surya, portrayed by Suhas, is a Radio Jockey who struggles with Prosopagnosia, commonly known as Face Blindness, which renders him unable to recognize even the faces of his closest acquaintances. Only his confidant, Vignesh (played by Harsha Chemudu), and beloved Aadhya (portrayed by Payal Radhakrishna) are aware of his condition. One night, Surya becomes the sole witness to a murder but finds himself incapable of identifying the culprit due to his affliction. Seeking help, he turns to ACP Vaidehi (depicted by Rashi Singh), but circumstances soon turn against him.
What follows is a tale of twists and turns as the police attempt to unravel the mystery. Despite his condition, Surya plays a crucial role in aiding the investigation, using unconventional methods to provide valuable insights. However, as the plot thickens, Surya finds himself caught in a web of deceit and betrayal, with the truth proving to be elusive.

The film teaser was released on 7 March 2024.[6]and the trailer of the film was unveiled by Sukumar on 26 April 2024.[7][8]
Soundtrack[edit]
The soundtrack and background score were composed by Vijay Bulganin. Aditya Music acquired the audio rights.[9]

Mythri Movie Makers acquires Telangana and Tamil Nadu rights of Prasanna Vadanam.[12] and Hombale Films acquired the distribution rights for the film in Karnataka.[13]

Reception[edit]
Anna Yaswanth of Deccan Chronicle gave the film 2.75/5 stars and stated that "Prasanna Vadanam offers a fresh take on the thriller genre, exploring the complexities of its characters. The ending neatly ties up all loose ends, leaving audiences reflective".[15]
10TV gave the film 3/5 stars and wrote "Prasanna Vadanam is a compelling murder mystery where the protagonist's face blindness adds depth to the suspenseful narrative, supported by impressive cinematography and a standout background score".[16]
Paul Nicodemus of The Times of India rated the film 3.5/5 stars that stated that "Prasanna Vadanam intricately weaves psychological exploration with a thrilling narrative, examining conditions like prosopagnosia and phonagnosia. Its climax ties loose ends, leaving viewers both fulfilled and reflective".[17]
123 Telugu gave the film 2.75/5 stars and wrote "Prasanna Vadanam offers a thriller experience, with Suhas delivering a notable performance and Rashi Singh leaving an impression in her negative role. Certain plot twists justify the ticket price, but pacing inconsistencies and superfluous scenes might limit its broader appeal".[18]
Suhas Sistu of The Hans India rated the film 3/5 stars and wrote "Prasanna Vadanam, Director Arjun's debut, is a thrilling exploration of face blindness, offering a fresh storyline and captivating suspense for audiences to enjoy".[19]
